RISK

Digital asset and OTC risk disclosure

Read this before using any transaction workflow.

Digital assets, OTC transactions and cross-border payment pathways involve substantial risk. This disclosure is a general overview and does not replace independent professional advice or the terms of a specific counterparty or payment provider.

Market and pricing risk

Digital-asset prices and exchange rates can change rapidly. Quotes may expire, liquidity may disappear and the value received may differ from an earlier indication.

Counterparty and settlement risk

A counterparty may delay, default, provide incorrect instructions or become unable to perform. Fiat and blockchain legs can settle at different times, creating temporary or permanent exposure.

Blockchain risk

Transactions sent to an incorrect address or network may be irreversible. Congestion, reorganization, smart-contract defects, wallet compromise or protocol changes may affect timing and value.

Fiat and banking risk

Banks and payment providers may reject, delay, return, freeze or investigate payments. Processing times are not controlled by OzOTC and can differ by currency, location and provider.

Operational and cyber risk

Credential compromise, human error, system interruption, malicious software and inaccurate records may cause loss. Use independent address verification, strong authentication and separation of duties.

Legal and geographic restrictions

Digital-asset and OTC activity may be restricted or prohibited in some places. Users are responsible for determining whether a proposed activity is permitted and for meeting any requirements that apply to them.

No guarantee

OzOTC does not guarantee execution, liquidity, rate, timing, finality, participant performance or recovery of funds. Do not commit assets you cannot afford to lose.
